Divide 40W by the strip's rated power per meter. For example, a 12V strip consuming 5W/m would allow up to 8 meters (40W / 5W per meter = 8m). Check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 40W.
Can the HLG-40H-12 be mounted outdoors in direct rain?
Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating means the unit is protected against temporary submersion up to 1 meter of water. It can be mounted in direct rain, near sprinklers, or in other wet locations without additional weatherproofing.
What are the differences between the HLG-40H-12, 12A, 12AB, and 12B models?
All four share the same 40W / 12V / 3.33A core specs with a CC range of 7-12V. The base HLG-40H-12 has fixed output and is IP67 waterproof. The -12A adds output voltage/current adjustment via built-in potentiometer (IP65). The -12AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -12B provides dimming input only and retains IP67.
