The DDR-120B is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 16.8~33.6Vdc input range (nominal 24Vdc), it converts from 24Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated per IEC61373 for shock and vibration, it operates from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120B-24 to power 24V automation devices from a 24V battery-backed bus?
Yes. The DDR-120B-24 accepts 16–33V DC input and provides an isolated 24V output at up to 5A (120W). This is useful when you need galvanic isolation between a 24V UPS or battery bus and sensitive 24V PLC, relay, or sensor circuits to prevent ground loops and noise coupling.
Is the DDR-120B-24 suitable for powering 24V actuators and valve controllers in process plants?
The DDR-120B-24 delivers 24V at 5A (120W) with 4KVdc isolation from a 16–33V input bus. This capacity handles most individual actuator or valve controller loads. The -40°C to +85°C range and fanless design suit harsh plant environments without requiring additional cooling.
Can I use this converter to create an isolated 24V supply for a DIN rail data acquisition system?
The DDR-120B-24 is well suited for this. Its 4KVdc input-to-output isolation prevents noise from the main DC bus from reaching sensitive analog measurement circuits. At 120W, it can power a data logger, signal conditioners, and several analog input modules simultaneously.
Does the DDR-120B-24 require derating at elevated temperatures inside a control cabinet?
The DDR-120B-24 is rated for operation up to +85°C, but like most power converters it may derate output at the upper end of its temperature range. At typical cabinet temperatures of 40–50°C, you can expect full 120W output. Consult the derating curve in the datasheet for exact values above 70°C.
Is the DDR-120B-24 a good choice for powering 24V LED panel indicators from a 24V DC bus?
While it works for that purpose, the DDR-120B-24 provides 120W at 5A, which is significantly more than most LED indicator panels require. If your indicator load is only a few watts, a smaller model like the DDR-15G-24 (15W) or DDR-30G-24 (30W) may be more cost-effective and space-efficient.
