Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the ELG-200-C1400B to power outdoor LED signage?
Yes. The ELG-200-C1400B carries an IP67 waterproof rating, making it suitable for fully exposed outdoor installations such as LED signage and architectural lighting. Its wide input range of 100–305VAC also accommodates varying grid voltages found in outdoor or international deployments.
Is the ELG-200-C1400B appropriate for driving high-voltage LED arrays or downlight strings?
Yes. This driver operates in constant current mode at 1400mA with a CC voltage range of 71–142V, making it well-suited for series strings of high-voltage LED modules such as commercial downlight arrays or architectural LED strips that fall within that voltage window. The number of LEDs it can drive depends on each LED's forward voltage.
Can I use this driver in cold-storage or extreme-temperature environments?
Yes. The ELG-200-C1400B is rated for operation from -40°C to +85°C, so it can be deployed in cold-storage facilities, outdoor enclosures, or industrial spaces with wide temperature swings.
Does the ELG-200-C1400B support dimming for dynamic lighting control?
Yes. The "B" suffix indicates built-in 3-in-1 dimming (1–10V, PWM, and resistance), allowing light output to be adjusted without additional dimming modules. This makes it suitable for applications requiring variable intensity, such as retail or hospitality LED lighting.
What is the difference between the ELG-200-C1400, C1400A, C1400AB, C1400B, C1400D2, and C1400DA?
All six are 200W constant current drivers at 1400mA. The base ELG-200-C1400 has no dimming. The A variant adds output current adjustability via a potentiometer. The B variant adds 3-in-1 dimming (1–10V/PWM/resistance). The AB combines both adjustability and 3-in-1 dimming. The D2 adds 0–10V and PWM dimming and has a slightly lower max voltage of 142V. The DA adds DALI dimming protocol support.
Can the ELG-200-C1400B power LED modules used in large format retail or billboard signage?
Yes. At 198.8W and 1400mA constant current output with a 71–142V operating range, this driver can handle the high-power LED modules typical of illuminated retail signage or billboard lighting cabinets, provided the combined LED string voltage falls within the CC range.
