Frequently Asked Questions
What types of LED lighting is the XLG-25-A suited for?
The XLG-25-A is a compact 25W constant-current driver suited for small LED downlights, spot fixtures, or short LED strip runs where the load operates in the 22–54V forward voltage range. It is a practical choice for single-fixture or small-zone applications.
Can the XLG-25-A be used outdoors or in damp locations?
Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating provides full dust protection and resistance to temporary water immersion. The driver can be installed in outdoor wall sconces, soffit fixtures, or other damp-location luminaires.
How much LED strip can the XLG-25-A power?
The driver delivers up to 25W total output. For a 7.2 W/m LED strip, that supports approximately 3.5 m (25 ÷ 7.2). For a 14.4 W/m strip, the maximum is about 1.7 m. Always confirm your strip's rated power per meter and apply a 20% safety derating.
Is the XLG-25-A suitable for powering LED modules in small outdoor signage?
Yes. Its IP67 rating makes it weather-resistant, and the 22–54V CC voltage range accommodates LED module strings used in small illuminated channel letters or cabinet signs. At 25W it is sized for smaller sign faces or individual letter modules.
Can the XLG-25-A operate on both 120V and 230V supplies?
Yes. The input range is 90–305VAC, covering standard residential and commercial voltages worldwide. No manual switching or external transformer is needed when moving between different mains voltages.
How does the XLG-25-A compare to the XLG-25-AB?
Both are 25W, 0.7A constant-current drivers with a 22–54V CC range, IP67 rating, and identical physical dimensions. The XLG-25-AB adds a dimming control input for external 0-10V or PWM signals; the XLG-25-A supports only manual current adjustment. Choose the AB if dimming control is required.
