Frequently Asked Questions
Can the ELG-100-C500 power a medium-voltage LED signage module array?
Yes. The ELG-100-C500 outputs a constant 500mA with a CC voltage range of 100–200V, making it compatible with mid-voltage LED module strings used in illuminated signage. Its IP67 waterproof metal case also enables mounting in outdoor or semi-outdoor sign cabinets.
Is the ELG-100-C500 suitable for use in an LED downlight fixture for retail or hospitality lighting?
Yes. Delivering 100W at a constant 500mA, this driver is appropriate for LED downlight engines designed for higher-current operation within the 100–200V string range. The wide input of 100–305VAC means it can be deployed in international projects without modification.
Can I install the ELG-100-C500 in an outdoor landscape or pathway lighting fixture?
Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating and operating temperature range of -40°C to +90°C allow for outdoor installation in landscape, pathway, or architectural lighting applications. The driver's 100W output supports LED arrays in larger outdoor luminaires.
What is the difference between the ELG-100-C500 and the ELG-100-C350 in terms of application fit?
The ELG-100-C500 outputs 500mA with a CC voltage range of 100–200V and 100W total power, while the ELG-100-C350 outputs 350mA at a CC voltage range of 143–286V with 100.1W. The C500 is suited to LED loads requiring higher current at lower string voltages, whereas the C350 covers higher-voltage, lower-current LED strings. Both are IP67 constant current drivers within the ELG-100 family.
How many LEDs can the ELG-100-C500 support in a series string?
The CC voltage range is 100–200V. The number of LEDs in a series string depends on each LED's individual forward voltage — the total string forward voltage must fall within 100–200V for the driver to regulate properly at 500mA. Refer to your LED's datasheet for the forward voltage value to calculate the compatible string length.
