ELG-240 series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. ELG-240 operates from 100～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 24V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications.

Test conditions and notes13

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.

3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can the ELG-240-48 power a 48V LED strip installation in an outdoor sign cabinet?

Yes. The ELG-240 series is rated IP65 or IP67 and the ELG-240-48 delivers 240W at 48V, making it suitable for outdoor sign cabinets. Its case temperature range of -40°C to +90°C (max. ambient 60°C at rated current in constant-current mode) covers most installation climates.

How many meters of 48V LED strip does the ELG-240-48 support?

The driver outputs a maximum of 240W at 48V on 200–305VAC input (180W on 100–180VAC). For a 48V strip rated at 20W per meter, that allows up to 12 meters (240 ÷ 20 = 12 m), or 9 meters on 100–180VAC. If you want 20% headroom, 192W equals about 9.6 meters at that power density; always verify the strip's rated watts per meter.

Is the ELG-240-48 suitable for powering LED strips in a rooftop architectural lighting installation?

Yes. The IP65/IP67 rating protects against rain and water ingress, and the driver is specified for a case temperature up to +90°C (max. ambient 60°C at rated current in constant-current mode). With 240W at 48V, it can drive substantial runs of 48V LED strip across a rooftop perimeter.

Can the ELG-240-48 be used in a tunnel or underpass LED lighting application?

Yes. The IP65/IP67 rating and case temperature range of -40°C to +90°C suit the damp, variable-temperature conditions common in tunnels and underpasses. The 240W output at 48V is appropriate for medium-length continuous runs of 48V LED strip.

Does the ELG-240-48 support dimming?

The base ELG-240-48 (no letter suffix) does not include a built-in dimming interface. For adjustment or dimming at the same 240W / 48V rating, consider the ELG-240-48A (output adjustment via built-in potentiometer), ELG-240-48B (3-in-1 dimming), ELG-240-48AB (both) or ELG-240-48DA (DALI).

Is the ELG-240-48 appropriate for a cold-storage facility with temperatures below freezing?

Yes. The ELG-240-48 is rated for operation down to -40°C, which covers standard cold-storage and freezer applications. The IP65/IP67-rated enclosure resists water splashes, but the working humidity is specified as 20–95% RH non-condensing, so avoid mounting it where condensation forms.
