Is the HLG-80H-24AB a good fit for dimmable 24V LED signage?
Yes. It provides 80W at 24V with built-in 1-10V/PWM dimming input, so you can use an external dimmer to adjust sign brightness throughout the day. The adjustable output also lets you fine-tune voltage and current via the built-in potentiometer to match your specific LED module string.
Can the HLG-80H-24AB power 24V under-cabinet LED strips with a dimmer?
Yes. The built-in dimming input accepts 1-10V or PWM signals, letting you adjust brightness for under-cabinet or task lighting. At 80W and 24V, it can drive a reasonable run of 24V LED strip as long as the total load stays at or below 80W. The adjustable potentiometer provides additional fine-tuning of output level.
How many meters of 24V LED strip can the HLG-80H-24AB drive?
That depends on your strip's rated power per meter. The HLG-80H-24AB supplies up to 80W at 24V. For example, if your strip draws 14.4W/m, you could run up to about 5.5 meters (80W / 14.4W per meter ≈ 5.5m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 80W.
Can I install the HLG-80H-24AB outdoors where it may get splashed but not submerged?
Yes. Its IP65 rating means the enclosure is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction and is dust-tight. This covers rain-sheltered outdoor areas, covered walkways, and locations with occasional splashing. It is not rated for submersion — for that, use an IP67 model like the HLG-80H-24B.
What are the differences between the HLG-80H-24, 24A, 24AB, and 24B models?
All four share the same 80W / 24V / 3.4A core specs. The base HLG-80H-24 has fixed output and IP67 waterproof rating. The -24A adds a potentiometer for output voltage/current adjustment (IP65). The -24AB combines adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -24B offers dimming input only and retains IP67 waterproof rating.
