Overview
XLG-50-A is the model of this series: rated power 100VAC ~ 305VAC 50W, typical efficiency 90%.
XLG-50 series is a 50W AC/DC LED driver featuring the constant power mode output. XLG-50 operates from 90~305VAC. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90%, The entire series is able to operate between -40℃~90℃ wide case temperature range with air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications.XLG-50 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.XLG-50 series comply with the latest version of IEC61347/GB/T19510.1 and UL8750 international safety regulations. The output and dimming circuit are also completely in accordance with the new regulations with isolation to ensure the safety of both user and luminaire system during installation.

Test conditions and notes16
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 3. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 4. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 5. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. - 6. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 75℃ or less.

Can the XLG-50-A power a single LED strip zone in an outdoor retail display or outdoor sign?
Yes. The XLG-50-A carries an IP67 waterproof rating, making it suitable for outdoor and wet-location installations such as exterior retail signage, under-canopy lighting, or outdoor display cases. Its 50W capacity at 1A constant current is appropriate for a single zone of compatible LED strip or LED module array.
What length of LED strip can the XLG-50-A support?
The XLG-50-A outputs up to 50W. For example, a strip rated at 7.5W/m would allow up to about 6.6 meters at full load, and a 10W/m strip up to about 5 meters. Always check your strip's rated power per meter and size to no more than 80% of the driver's maximum (40W working load) for reliable continuous operation.
Can this driver be used for small LED signage or illuminated cabinet letters in wet environments?
Yes. The IP67 rating and compact 105 × 63 × 30 mm form factor make the XLG-50-A well suited for small illuminated cabinet letters, slim lightboxes, or under-counter LED strip lighting in wet or outdoor locations. The 90-305VAC input range also works across international mains voltages.
Is the XLG-50-A rated for use in very cold outdoor conditions?
Yes. The case temperature range is -40°C to +90°C, making this driver suitable for outdoor sign and display installations in cold climates, as well as high-ambient indoor environments such as industrial or commercial kitchens.
Can the XLG-50-A be used for LED strip cove lighting inside a bathroom or wet area?
Yes. The IP67 rating means the XLG-50-A is fully sealed against dust and protected against temporary water immersion, qualifying it for wet area installations. Position the driver in a ventilated enclosure outside the splash zone where required by local electrical codes, and pair it with appropriately rated LED strip for the wet zone.
How does the XLG-50-A differ from the XLG-50-AB?
Both the XLG-50-A and XLG-50-AB share the same 50W, 1A, 57V output, IP67 rating, and input range. The XLG-50-AB adds a 3-in-1 dimming interface (0-10V, PWM, or resistance), while the XLG-50-A is adjustable output current only via a built-in potentiometer without a dedicated dimming control input.
