Can I use the XLC-40-H-B for small LED arrays in architectural facade lighting?
The XLC-40-H-B has no IP rating listed and is specified for built-in use only, so it requires placement inside an appropriately rated enclosure if used outdoors. For indoor architectural or facade applications behind a protective housing it can drive LED arrays with forward voltages within the 9–54V CC range at up to 40W.
How is the output current set on the XLC-40-H-B?
Output current is configured via the onboard dip switch, with an adjustment range of 0.6A to 1.4A around the nominal 1050mA. This allows the driver to be tuned for LED loads that operate at lower drive currents without external components.
What LED configurations are compatible with the XLC-40-H-B constant current output?
The CC output voltage range is 9–54V. LED strings whose combined forward voltage falls within this range at the selected drive current are compatible. Because forward voltage varies by LED type, the number of LEDs in the string must be sized based on each LED's specific Vf specification.
