Frequently Asked Questions
Can the ELG-150-C2100 drive LED arrays in outdoor architectural wash lighting?
Yes. The ELG-150-C2100 operates in constant current mode at 2100mA with a 36–72V CC compliance range, suitable for series LED arrays in outdoor wash fixtures. The IP67 waterproof rating allows installation in exposed outdoor enclosures or wall-mount luminaires.
Is the ELG-150-C2100 suitable for powering LED modules in illuminated outdoor signage?
Yes. At 151.2W and 2100mA constant current, the ELG-150-C2100 can power LED sign module strings whose combined forward voltages fall within the 36–72V range. The IP67 enclosure protects against weather exposure inside outdoor sign cabinets.
How does a 2100mA output current affect LED module selection compared to a 1750mA driver?
A higher constant current of 2100mA means the LEDs must be rated for operation at or above that current level. Using LEDs rated for lower currents (such as those designed for 1050mA or 1400mA) at 2100mA would overdrive them and cause premature failure. Always match the driver's output current to the LED module's rated operating current.
Can the ELG-150-C2100 be installed in a wet outdoor location?
Yes. The IP67 rating means the ELG-150-C2100 is fully protected against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water to 1 meter depth. It is appropriate for landscape lighting, outdoor pole-mount fixtures, or below-grade enclosures where water contact is possible.
What is the difference between the ELG-150-C2100 and ELG-150-C1750 series drivers?
The ELG-150-C2100 delivers 2100mA at up to 80V output with a 36–72V CC range, while the ELG-150-C1750 delivers 1750mA at up to 94V with a 43–86V CC range. Both are approximately 150W constant current drivers in the same enclosure. The C2100 suits LED loads rated for higher current at lower string voltages; the C1750 suits loads requiring lower current over a higher voltage string.
Does the ELG-150-C2100 have dimming capability?
The base ELG-150-C2100 has no dimming function. Dimming variants are available: C2100A adds output adjustment via potentiometer; C2100B adds 3-in-1 dimming (10V, PWM, resistance); C2100AB combines both; C2100DA adds DALI; and C2100D2 adds DALI-2. All share the same 2100mA / 151.2W output.
