Test conditions and notes10
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details. Please connect L line to the positive pole and N line to the negative pole under DC input.
- 5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. - 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.

What LED lighting use cases fit a 5V, 10W constant-voltage driver?
The APV-12-5 outputs 5V at 2A for a maximum of 10W. It is suited to 5V LED pixel strips, addressable LED modules such as WS2812-style strips, and small 5V LED signage panels. Confirm your LED product operates at 5V and that the total load does not exceed 10W.
How does the APV-12-5 compare to the APV-16-5 and APV-25-5 for 5V LED applications?
The APV-12-5 provides 10W at 5V and 2A in a 77 × 40 × 29 mm housing; it is the only 5V model of the APV-12 series, whose other models are rated 12W. The APV-16-5 and APV-25-5 are not covered by this datasheet, so compare their ratings on their own spec sheets. Choose based on the wattage your LED load requires.
Is the APV-12-5 approved for use in moisture-prone environments?
The APV-12-5 is rated IP42 and is specified for 20–90% RH non-condensing working humidity. It is not suitable for outdoor, wet, or condensing environments without additional enclosure protection. For damp or wet locations, specify a driver with at least an IP65 rating.
How many meters of 5V addressable LED strip can the APV-12-5 support?
The APV-12-5 delivers 10W at 5V. At a typical 5V addressable strip consumption of 5 W/m at full white, that supports roughly 2 m. Divide 10W by your strip's rated power per meter to find your specific limit, and verify your strip's rated power per meter before purchasing.
