Overview
DDR-60G-5 is the 5V output model of this series: rated current 10.8A, rated power 54W, typical efficiency 87.5%.
DDR-60 series is a 60W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter with main features including DIN rail-type easy installation, ultra slim width (52.5mm), 4:1 ultra wide input voltage, -40~+85℃ wide operating temperature, 4KVdc I/O isolation, adjustable output voltage ( 10%) and full protective functions...etc. This series has two input options: 9~36V /18~75V and various output options: 5V / 12V / 15V / 24V and can be used for industrial control, security control, communication system and other fields. Suitable applications are DC buck/boost regulator, increasing system insulation level and voltage drop compensation along cable...etc.

Test conditions and notes6
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at normal input (G:24Vdc, L:48Vdc), rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the derating curve for more details.
- 5. The power supply is considered as an independent unit, but the final equipment still need to re-confirm that the whole system complies with the EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf )

Can I use the DDR-60G-5 to convert a 12V or 24V battery bank to 5V for embedded controllers in a DIN rail panel?
Yes. The DDR-60G-5 accepts 9-36V DC input, covering both 12V and 24V nominal battery systems (the datasheet notes derating may be needed at low input voltage). It outputs 5V at up to 10.8A (54W), which is sufficient for most embedded single-board computers, PLCs with 5V logic, or clusters of microcontroller boards mounted in a DIN rail enclosure.
Is the DDR-60G-5 suitable for powering USB charging hubs in industrial kiosks or HMI stations?
Yes. At 5V and 10.8A the DDR-60G-5 can supply up to 54W, enough to charge multiple USB devices simultaneously through a hub. Its compact 52.5 x 90 x 54.5 mm size and 4KVdc I/O isolation make it a good fit inside equipment cabinets where the source is a 12V or 24V DC bus.
Can the DDR-60G-5 power 5V LED indicator panels or small display modules in automation systems?
Yes. Many industrial LED indicator strips and small TFT displays run on 5V. The DDR-60G-5 provides 10.8A of current, so it can drive several indicator panels or HMI displays from a 9-36V DC bus without needing a separate AC-DC stage.
Will the DDR-60G-5 work in an unheated outdoor telecom cabinet during winter?
Yes. It is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (with derating at higher temperatures per the derating curve), so it will start and run in extreme cold. Humidity must stay within 5-95% RH non-condensing, so keep it inside the cabinet, protected from condensation and water.
Can I mount the DDR-60G-5 inside a sealed control enclosure without forced-air cooling?
The datasheet rates the DDR-60G-5 for -40°C to +85°C ambient, with output derating required at higher temperatures (see the derating curve). It measures 52.5 x 90 x 54.5 mm (W x H x D). Make sure the air inside the sealed enclosure stays within the rated range and check the derating curve against your load.
