Frequently Asked Questions
Can the DDRH-45-15P supply the 15V rail needed by op-amp circuits in an embedded signal processing board?
Yes. The PCB-mount form factor and compact 89×63.5×25 mm size allow the DDRH-45-15P to be placed directly on a carrier board. It provides a regulated 15V at up to 3A (45W) suitable for analog signal chains requiring a precision 15V rail.
Is the DDRH-45-15P suitable for powering wireless industrial routers from a 600VDC photovoltaic bus?
Yes. The 150–1500VDC input range easily covers a 600VDC PV bus. At 45W, 15V, 3A the converter can power industrial Wi-Fi routers, cellular modems, and edge computing gateways used in solar monitoring systems.
Can this PCB-type module be integrated into a custom avionics ground-support tool that runs from a high-voltage battery?
The ultra-wide 150–1500VDC input and –40°C to +80°C operating range align with demanding test and ground-support environments. At 45W it supports 15V loads such as display electronics, signal generators, and data acquisition front ends.
How does the DDRH-45-15P differ from the DDRH-45-15DR and DDRH-45-15ST?
All three produce 45W at 15V, 3A with the same 150–1500VDC input. The DDRH-45-15P is a PCB module (89×63.5×25 mm, 0.24 kg). The DDRH-45-15DR (135×70×43.5 mm, 0.31 kg) mounts on a DIN rail. The DDRH-45-15ST (135×70×32 mm, 0.305 kg) connects via screw terminals.
Does the DDRH-45-15P require any active cooling when mounted on a PCB inside a sealed box?
The fanless design means no active cooling is built in. In a sealed enclosure, total power dissipation will raise the internal temperature; ensure the enclosure thermal design keeps the ambient around the module below the 80°C maximum.
Can the DDRH-45-15P handle the cold-start conditions found in outdoor telecom equipment at –40°C?
Yes. The –40°C lower temperature rating covers the cold-start requirements of outdoor telecom nodes and remote monitoring equipment. The unit should still be housed in an IP-rated enclosure since the converter itself carries no ingress-protection rating.
