Frequently Asked Questions
Can the DDRH-45-24P power a 24V embedded controller inside a motor drive assembly?
Yes. The PCB-mount format makes the DDRH-45-24P easy to integrate directly into a drive assembly or custom controller board. It supplies 24V at 1.87A (45W) from a 150–1500VDC input, covering the high bus voltages typical of variable-frequency drives.
Is the DDRH-45-24P suitable for supplying 24V to an industrial wireless gateway in a smart factory application?
Yes. Industrial wireless gateways and IIoT edge devices commonly run on 24VDC and draw well under 45W. The PCB-mount module can be integrated into a custom gateway board or mounted inside an enclosure fed from any bus voltage in the 150–1500VDC range.
Can this module be used in a mining or heavy-industry application with high DC bus voltages above 800VDC?
The DDRH-45-24P accepts up to 1500VDC, making it compatible with the elevated bus voltages found in mining conveyor drives, longwall equipment, and heavy-industry automation. At 45W it serves auxiliary control and instrumentation loads.
How does the DDRH-45-24P PCB module compare to the other 45W 24V variants in the DDRH series?
All three 45W 24V models output 24V at 1.87A with a 150–1500VDC input. The DDRH-45-24P is the smallest at 89×63.5×25 mm (0.24 kg) and mounts on a PCB. The DDRH-45-24DR (135×70×43.5 mm, 0.31 kg) clips to a DIN rail. The DDRH-45-24ST (135×70×32 mm, 0.305 kg) uses screw terminals.
Does the DDRH-45-24P need any thermal management when embedded in a sealed device?
The fanless design has no moving parts, but heat must still be dissipated through convection or conduction. In a sealed housing, ensure the enclosure provides sufficient thermal mass or surface area to keep the converter within its –40°C to +80°C range.
Can the DDRH-45-24P handle the cold temperatures experienced in arctic or high-altitude outdoor equipment?
The –40°C lower temperature limit covers arctic and high-altitude cold-start conditions. Because the unit has no IP rating, it must be housed in an appropriately sealed enclosure to protect against condensation and precipitation in outdoor installations.
