Can I install the HLG-480H-42AB in a covered outdoor canopy or awning?
Yes. It is rated IP65, which protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets. Covered outdoor canopies, awnings, and ventilated electrical enclosures are appropriate locations. For direct rain exposure or risk of standing water, choose the IP67-rated HLG-480H-42B instead.
What is the difference between the HLG-480H-42, 42A, 42AB, and 42B?
All four share 480W / 42V / 11.4A core specs. The base HLG-480H-42 has fixed output and IP67. The -42A adds output adjustment via potentiometer (IP65). The -42AB adds both adjustment and dimming input (IP65). The -42B has dimming input only and retains IP67 waterproofing.
