Test conditions and notes13
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details.
- 5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf)
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. LPV-35-5 can provide 6A of output current continuously. Based on the requirement of UL1310 class 2, the output current is only certified up to 5A for the test report of LPV-35-5.
- 8. Suitable for indoor use or outdoor use without direct sunlight exposure. Please avoid immerse in the water over 30 minute.
- 9. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

What types of LED lighting is the LPV-35-36 designed for?
The LPV-35-36 is a 36V constant-voltage driver suited to LED strips, modules, or signage that specify a 36V supply. Its 36W capacity and IP67 rating make it a practical choice for outdoor channel lettering, cabinet signs, or architectural accent lighting rated for 36V operation.
How long a 36V LED strip run can the LPV-35-36 support?
With 36W available at 36V (1A output), the maximum strip length depends on your strip's rated power per metre. A strip rated at 9 W/m, for example, would allow up to 4 metres (36 ÷ 9 = 4 m). Confirm the rated W/m of your specific strip before calculating the run length.
Is the LPV-35-36 safe for installations exposed to rain?
Yes, within limits. The IP67 rating means the driver is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water (avoid immersion over 30 minutes), so it can be mounted outdoors where it is exposed to rain, provided it is shielded from direct sunlight. The operating range of -30°C to +65°C, with derating at higher temperatures, covers cold-weather outdoor use.
How does the LPV-35-36 differ from the LPV-35-15 and LPV-35-24 in the same enclosure?
All three occupy the same 148 × 40 × 30 mm IP67 body and deliver 36W. The LPV-35-36 outputs 36V at 1A, compared to 15V at 2.4A for the LPV-35-15 and 24V at 1.5A for the LPV-35-24. The correct choice is determined solely by the rated voltage of the LED load.
Which safety certifications cover the LPV-35-36?
The LPV-35-36 is approved to UL1310 Class 2, CAN/CSA No. 223-M91, IEC62368-1, BS EN/EN62368-1, EAC TP TC 004 and BIS IS15885. Note that units sourced from the Americas may not carry the TÜV/BIS logo, and units sourced from China may not carry the BIS logo.
