Test conditions and notes7
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to "EMI testing of component power supplies." (as available on http://www.meanwell.com)
- 5. Mounting holes M1 and M2 should be grounded for EMI purposes.

Can I use the MPD-65B for 5V industrial logic and control electronics?
Yes, its CH1 output is a regulated 5V rail rated at 3.5A, alongside a 24V CH2 output rated at 2A, for 65.5W total. That makes it a fit for 5V logic, interface, and control electronics when the 5V current stays within 3.5A.
Is the MPD-65B suitable for 5V embedded systems in industrial or IT equipment?
Yes, for embedded systems that need a regulated 5V rail and draw no more than 3.5A. The 90-264VAC input range is also useful in equipment that may be deployed across different AC mains standards.
Can the MPD-65B handle a 5V control assembly that needs more wattage than a 45W supply?
Not on the 5V rail alone. The 65.5W rating is shared between the 5V/3.5A CH1 and the 24V/2A CH2, so the 5V output is rated at 17.5W. Up to 72W total is available only with 18CFM minimum forced air cooling.
