HLG-240H-20A is the 20V output model of this series: rated current 12A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 91.5%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLG-240H-20A for 20V LED strip lighting in a covered outdoor patio?

Yes. The HLG-240H-20A delivers 20V at up to 12A (240W) with an IP65 water-resistant rating, which handles splashing water and dust in covered patios, canopies, or soffits. For fully rain-exposed locations without any overhead cover, consider the IP67-rated HLG-240H-20 instead.

Is the adjustable output on the HLG-240H-20A useful for fine-tuning LED brightness?

Yes. The built-in potentiometer lets you trim both the output voltage (18.6-21.4V) and current (6-12A), which is helpful when you need to match the driver precisely to a specific LED load or reduce brightness slightly. Lowering the current setting reduces the drive level without an external dimmer.

Can the HLG-240H-20A power 20V LED modules for commercial light box displays?

Yes. With 240W at 20V, it provides enough power for large light box arrays using 20V LED modules. The adjustable output lets you dial in the exact voltage for optimal module performance, and the wide 90-305VAC input works with most commercial electrical systems worldwide.

How many meters of 20V LED strip can the HLG-240H-20A drive?

Divide 240W by your strip's rated wattage per meter. For example, a strip rated at 20W/m would allow 12 meters (240W / 20W per meter = 12m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 240W.

Is the HLG-240H-20A suitable for an outdoor installation exposed to direct rain?

The HLG-240H-20A has an IP65 water-resistant rating, which protects against low-pressure water jets and dust but is not rated for submersion. It is appropriate for sheltered outdoor locations. For fully exposed installations, the IP67-rated HLG-240H-20 or HLG-240H-20B would be a better choice.

What is the difference between the HLG-240H-20A and the HLG-240H-20AB?

Both share the same 240W / 20V / 12A output and IP65 rating. The HLG-240H-20A offers output voltage/current adjustment via a built-in potentiometer. The HLG-240H-20AB includes that same adjustment plus a 1-10V/PWM dimming input for external brightness control. Choose the -20AB if you need both adjustment and dimming capability.
