Overview
HLG-240H-20AB is the 20V output model of this series: rated current 12A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 91.5%. Type AB: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer & 3 in 1 dimming function (1~10Vdc, 10V PWM signal and resistance) (IP65).
HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. - 8. To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

Can I use the HLG-240H-20AB to power dimmable 20V LED strips in a restaurant patio?
Yes. The HLG-240H-20AB delivers 240W at 20V with both output adjustment and a 1-10V/PWM dimming input, making it ideal for restaurant patios where you want to lower lighting levels during evening service. Its IP65 water-resistant rating is suitable for covered or semi-sheltered outdoor dining areas.
Is the HLG-240H-20AB appropriate for smart-home controlled 20V LED lighting?
Yes. The dimming input accepts 1-10V or PWM signals, which most smart lighting controllers and building management systems can provide. Combined with the output adjustment potentiometer, you can set a maximum brightness level and then use the smart controller to dim from there. The 240W capacity handles substantial LED loads.
Can the HLG-240H-20AB drive 20V LED cove lighting in a large retail space?
Yes. At 240W and 20V output, it can power extended runs of 20V LED cove lighting. The adjustable output lets you fine-tune the voltage to match the LED strip precisely, and the dimming input allows scene control or daylight-responsive dimming in the retail environment.
How many meters of 20V LED strip can the HLG-240H-20AB power?
Divide 240W by your strip's rated power per meter. For instance, a strip rated at 15W/m would allow 16 meters (240W / 15W per meter = 16m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep the total load at or below 240W for reliable operation.
Can I mount the HLG-240H-20AB outdoors under a canopy or soffit?
Yes. The IP65 water-resistant rating protects against low-pressure water jets and dust, which is sufficient for sheltered outdoor installations such as canopies, soffits, and covered walkways. It is not rated for submersion. For fully exposed locations, consider the IP67-rated HLG-240H-20B.
