DALI allows the strip brightness to be adjusted from a central controller without additional dimmer hardware at the fixture.
How much 24V LED strip can the PWM-60-24DA support?
The PWM-60-24DA has a maximum output of 60W. Divide that by your strip's power draw per meter to calculate maximum length — a 10 W/m strip could run up to 6 meters, while a 20 W/m strip is limited to about 3 meters. Apply an 80% derating rule for continuous use, reducing usable capacity to 48W.
Does the PWM-60-24DA need an earth ground in the enclosure?
No. Like all PWM series drivers, the PWM-60-24DA features a Class II design without a functional ground (FG), so no earth connection is needed. This is particularly useful when mounting inside plastic weatherproof enclosures.
What is the difference between the PWM-60-24DA and PWM-60-24DA2?
Both are 60W, 24V, 2.5A IP67 drivers in the same physical housing. The PWM-60-24DA uses the original DALI protocol, while the PWM-60-24DA2 supports the newer DALI2 standard, which offers improved interoperability and device query capabilities. Choose DA2 if your DALI controller or luminaires require DALI2 compliance.
